Hole bassiste to "flaunt" it in new magazine

Date added: 1999-02-25 If you haven't seen enough of Hole bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur in the band's new video for "Malibu" or her cameo in Rufus Wainwright's video for "April Fools", you'll want to pick up the new issue of "Flaunt". The second issue of the still wet behind the ears entertainment publication, which hits newsstands on February 22, features a photo the bassist took of herself while in the bathtub with a well-positioned loofah. Auf Der Maur, an amateur photographer, appears in the magazine's "Sound and Vision" section, where one musician is asked each month to express themselves creatively. R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe had his photo of a wedding featured in the magazine's debt issue, which also featured Auf Der Maur's band mate, singer Courtney Love, on the cover. As for Auf Der Maur's photograph, she says, "I was very sad in the bathtub and when I'm sad, my nose really does bleed". She will also have other, less revealing, photos she shot on tour in Australia published in the April issues of "Spin" and "Alternative Press". Auf Der Maur can next be seen on the road with her band Hole co-headlining a tour with Marilyn Manson on February 28 in Spokane, Washington. Her tourmates, singer Marilyn Manson and guitarist Twiggy Ramirez were also recently featured in the buff in "Honcho" magazine.
