The Album

Auf der Maur's self-titled debut album will be released internationally on February 2nd, and in the UK on March 1st. Auf der Maur will be in stores in the U.S. on june 1st.

Kim Pryor, Melissa's Auf der Maur tour guitarist, wrote us a little something to get to know the band a little better:

"This is Kim- I play guitar with Melissa. I was reading the forums on the Official site and Firecrasher, and saw that someone had asked about the rest of us. I realized that, even though we may have met some of you, shows are not always the best time or place to get to know people; besides that, I'm really shy, and tend to hide out instead of socializing, unlike the outgoing Andrew. So, here's little info, since you ask.

Steve Durand, as you know, is the only band member that was involved with the writing and recording of the record. He and Melissa were in Tinker together, in Montreal. Tinker released two albums after Melissa left, and there's a Tinker 7" floating around out there of Real A Lie (a song on Melissa's album). Steve released a solo record, "Capsule Living" in 1999, and currently has a band in Montreal called Moufette, with Ariel Engle. Steve lives in the forest.

Andrew Rodriguez is from Montreal and has known Melissa since they were teenagers. He has a band called Bodega, and has released two cds, "Bring Yourself Up" and "Without A Plan". A new record is being finished up, and will be coming out later this year. Check out the Bodega website, www.bodegamusic.com, or www.middlechildmusic.com for further info.

Kim Pryor (that's me) met Melissa through mutual friends when Melissa played with Hole and Kim was in a band out of San Francisco called Stone Fox (NOT the all-girl cover band with the same name), and currently has a band in Los Angeles called Butcher Holler. There is a Butcher Holler record, "I <3 Rock", www.butcherholler.com. Stone Fox info is found on the web by searching "stone fox linda perry".

Julian Blais is a new friend, and a true Quebecois (French Canadian) He's from Rimouski, and has played in quite a few bands, doing some sessions including RESET (now Simple Plan) Psychotic4, Fiftynutz, SmokinSonic and XLARGE. He's the new kid around!! www.fiftynutz.com
